Eduroam

Eduroam a.k.a. education roaming is a global trust-based federation of institutions which allows the academic community (i.e., higher education institution students, staff members as well as employees of research institutes and public museums) to get global access to the Internet outside their own institutions, when they are in eduroam member institutions. Access is controlled by the mother institution, by way of the RADIUS hierarchy developed through the eduroam cooperation. In Hungary, the connection is provided by National Information Infrastructure Development (NIIF) and it is already available in many institutions (see the list of these institutionshere). The full list of participants and further information on the European hierarchy are available on the www.eduroam.org website.

The principle of using the eduroam service is that guest users are governed by the rules of both their own and their host institutions, in other words, users are required to learn and abide by the rules of both institutions. Furthermore, the users of NIIF member institutions must abide by the NIIF eduroam policy as well.

All UVMB students with active status as well as all staff members with active civil servant status are entitled to access the service.
